Let’s give a Hand (Instead of an Eye) to Dior’s Diorshow waterproof liner in Turquoise

Mysterious things that confuse me…

The allure of mark Ruffalo. I dunno, he kinda reminds me of those caveman guys from the Geico commercials. I just don’t get it (sorry, Mark! I loved you in The Avengers!).

Cat allegiance. Tabs loves me, Tabs loves me not. one day he’s following me from room to room and baking enough biscuits on my tum to feed a small kitty army; the next, I’m not even worth a glance and a meow. wie unhöflich!

The new limited edition Dior Diorshow waterproof liner in Turquoise ($29) from the summer 2012 Croisette Collection.

The color of this intense crystal blue twist-up liner, with its flecks of tiny teal glitter, looks like it was inspired by a crystal-clear tropical bay.

It’s really cute! When I swatch it on the back of my hand, a single swipe delivers long-wearing, rich color that lasts through rigorous rubbing and several hand washings, and even though the formula is a little on the dry side, it still applies smoothly…at least on the back of my hand.

Based on the swatch, I was sure Turquoise would see a lot of use this summer, and I expected to fall in love with it after the very first swipe along my upper and lower lash lines. Unfortunately, it likes the back of my hand quite a bit better than my eyes.

Seltsam!

The first layer skips and tugs along my lash lines and looks pretty patchy on my eyes, but I can even out the color if I keep applying layers (between 4-5).

I thought this was also strange: it’s not nearly as durable or waterproof on my eyes as it is on my hands. I had a bad allergy attack the other day — watery eyes, sneezing, the whole nine yards — and after touching my eyes a few times that afternoon (I know I shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t resist), most of the liner had disappeared. Odd, considering how well the swatch withstood the few times I washed my hands.

For me, Turquoise is like a person who looks good on paper, but you just don’t have any sparks with him when you go out on a date.

I love how it performs on the back of my hand…so if that ever comes in style, I’ll know exactly where to go!

Driven by snoring: My late-night appeal wish list

Good morning, fellow appeal lover. I had a hard time falling asleep last night (El Hub’s snoring has been out of control!), so I figured, why not surf the web for new appeal ideas?

Even though I miss my pink streaks, I do not miss the maintenance! The new solid Extensions from Sultra at Sephora ($18 each) just might satisfy my hair color cravings.

Have you tried these yet? Ich bin so neugierig!

I also found a few new goodies from Caudalie that look intriguing, like their Divine Scented Oil for skin, hair and nails ($48), Vinosource Riche intense moisture Rescue cream for very dry skin ($38), Vinsource Moisturizing Sorbet for sensitive skin ($38) and Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum ($48).

I like the idea of scented nail polishes, like this Scensational six Fruit-Scented nail Lacquer kit from Sephora by OPI ($24.50). have you given these a sniff/try?

And speaking of nails, how cute is this Kate Spade travel nail polish set ($28)? Wollen!
